Right in my own backyard (Ann Arbor is about 40 miles away).

I'm a bird. I am the 1% (of pets).

The internet is a pretty good library. not only that but my last college gave students access to full text journals and I'm still able to log in so there is no need to be quiet.

Actually, the internet without access to an academic library is an extremely piss-poor library. Very, very little is accessible. Just lexisnexis alone effectively doubles the utility.

Basically no fields other than possibly some areas of information tech have anything other than a miniscule amount of resources available online for free.

Which costs 100s of thousands of dollars a year. Even more for major universities (there are science journals where individual subscriptions cost 10s of thousands). In addition, most of them only go back to ~95.

Your title makes it look kind of like Steve Jobs was the one that swore at the librarian.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
