I'm compiling a list of frequently asked Mac questions. I'd appreciate it if people would post questions they think should go in the list.
If you would be interested in helping write answers, state that as well.
Questions need to be for Macs, either hardware or software.

Thanks,

Scott

Q: How do I do : blank : on my MAC?

A: MAC is not an acronym. It is spelled Mac, like a normal name, because it is short for Macintosh.

Can I use a two button mouse?

YES Apple has drivers for most mouses and they have built in controls for scroll wheels, track balls and everything else you could want.

Can I open my pictures on a Mac? Word Files? etc

Yes

Will I get viruses

Not terribly likely... in the least

yesterday I was in the Apple section of J&R computer world and I heard the salesman telling a potential customer that it would be really difficult to transfer his stuff from a PC if he bought a Mac.

!!!!!

Sure, some people have stuff that might be challenging but most people have some email, some JPEGs, some Word docs, stuff that is basically cross platform.

Good sales technique.

But any way, how to move files between computer platforms and/or move to a mac. Just the fact that Word format is essentially cross platform seems to be a mystery.
