Laptops 'carry risk to fertility'
Expert: Young men logging on to sperm risk
Laptops placed on the lap can increase temperatures in the genital area, an expert says.

LONDON (Reuters) -- Teenagers and young men should keep their laptops off their laps because they could damage fertility, an expert said Thursday.

Laptops, which reach high internal operating temperatures, can heat up the scrotum which could affect the quality and quantity of men's sperm.

"The increase in scrotal temperature is significant enough to cause changes in sperm parameters," said Dr Yefim Sheynkin, an associate professor of urology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
The laptop shown in the picture is a Powerbook!

Be afraid! Be careful!

Um yeah, duh. It's common knowledge that heating up your balls makes your sperm die. If you get in a hot tub or wear tight pants (thus holding them closer to your body) then you'll have reduced fertility. It's not like it permanently damages fertility.

It's just funny that they did a new study that just confirms what everyone has known, and within days it's all over the internet as though it's new information. In fact, it may have already been posted here.

"That's Mama Luigi to you, Mario!" *wheeze*

No. The fact that they are nerds negates ever NEEDING a condom.

Shouldn't the title read `Laptop carriers risk fertility'?
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
