I love caffeine in the morning. does this actually work?

They say it does and it seems like some tv programs tested it. Does anybody know if caffeine can get absorbed into the skin?

i would imagine it would be like a coffee enema just a little less so.

and yes, you can absorb it through the skin.

There was a thing in the UK this year about coffee tights, where the coffee was absorbed into the skin and reduced fat and cellulite in the thighs.

Of course, there is a website - http://coffeetights.co.uk/index.php

So maybe there is something in it.

If it's got enough caffeine to be absorbed through the skin, then is it actually safe to use?
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

I was highly doubtful of this as well when they first started showing it on the site. I thought the caffeine molecules were too big to be absorbed into the bloodstream, but I'm not a biochem major

My biochemistry degree will come in handy for this one:

Why it does not work:
Caffine is a stimulates the brain by increases the neurotransmitter, dopamine, in the brain. Your sensory nerves, the one on your skin, do not ingest caffine because it must get into your bloodstream. Therefore, you must ingest caffine for it to work.

If you do not believe me:
- Try rubbing aspirin on your body to relieve headache.
- Try rubbing caffine on your body to stimulate yourself (on your forearm )
- You will see how it does not work.

Final words:
So it is fake. Do not waste your money on this bar of soap. Just buy a cup of coffee, and you get the real thing.

Because those are combined with carrier molecules to transport the active ingredients into the bloodstream. Notice that those are prescription only and carry rather heavy duty health warnings?

Brad
The effects of the drugs are long term. I am sure there are some carrier chemicals that go along with your patches. I am not sure exactly how they work, you might want to ask a doctor on that one.

The other thing to think about is....
While the patches are long term stick on, the bar of soap is a wash and rinse. As much caffine as you rub on your body, it gets washed away at the same time.

People may say the caffine soap bar works. You need a control to see if the effects of the shower does the waking up process.

There is a member on this forum with a Ph.D in Biochemistry (or somewhere close to it), maybe they can help out.

bawls .. lol. i thought that beverage was for people willing to pay a lot of money on a slickly (is that a word?) advertised soda. my friend is a hardcore gamer (dedicates enough gaming time everyday to qualify as a second full time job)... i think he drinks it because it is seen as a gamer's drink and (peer effect?). Anyways .. somehow i was able to talk him out of it. he's sticking to ripped fuel (again .. why???)

i think bawls is like 27 dollars a case or something?

anyways ... caffein .. soap .. good novelty gift. I always wondered if it really worked or not. Now I know. Thanks
