I was trying to find artciles that compare power consumption of different processors. Where can I find there? I would be interested in comparisons, such as Athlon vs. Pentium vs. PowerPC.
Do you guys know of a good link, or do you have numbers for various processors?

Alright... I found the power consumtion for the G5s.
PowerPC Guide by IBM
PowerPC 970 @ 1.8GHz consumes 51 Watts
PowerPC 970FX @ 2.0GHz consumes 24.5 Watts

You have any states for G3s and G4s?

MPC7447A @ 1.4GHz - 21 Watts (current G4 in PowerBook G4s)
MPC7448 @ 1.4GHz - 10 Watts (rumored to be next generation PowerBook G4)
The IBM paper has numbers for the G3 (aka. PowerPC 750FX/750GX)
PPC 750FX @ 800MHz - 5.4 Watts
PPC 750GX @ 1GHz - ~9 Watts

Pentium 4 at 2.0Ghz: 96 Watts.
Pentium M at 2.0Ghz: 21 Watts.
No wonder Intel will be basing their future chips on the Pentium M.

Those 2.5 G5's are right up there with the P4 in power consumption.
IBM specs the 2.5 G5 @ 50w typical & 100w maximum
The P4 is essentially the same.
So where's Apple's sub-25watt G5 laptop chip?
Check out peecee laptops if you want to see what a difference there is in battery life between the Pentium M models and the 'desktop' Pentium models.
1hr 40min or 5hrs for the Pentium M

970FX @ 2.0 Ghz = 24,5 Watts, 12,3W @ 1.4Ghz So I think it's about time that IBM can produce enough of them so Apple can put them in the PowerBook. And they should add a better battery.

Some of the numbers listed above are 'typical' power usage, some are 'max' power usage.
Most (if not all) of the PPC processors are listed with typical usage, while the x86 processors are listed with max usage.
I didn't follow the links; this post only refers to numbers in the thread.
