see: here

all about making your computer safe, but my question is can you do this on a pc?

Operating systems
If possible, don't use Microsoft Windows. Buy a Macintosh or use Linux. If you must use Windows, set up Automatic Update so that you automatically receive security patches. And delete the files "command.com" and "cmd.exe."
can you really delete command.com and cmd.exe??

Sure you can*. Your Windoze might not work afterwards and you might but you can delete it.

*It's all speculation on my part. Not a Windoze expert, you know.

I'll try it and let you know.

I don't think windows use it any longer to operate. But its kept there for backward compatibility? Kinda like autoexec.bat and config.sys...

I don't see why you couldn't delete them. Command.com and cmd.exe are simply command interpreters. They aren't commands or system files.

They're like the Terminal on a Mac, are they not?

(Again, not much PC knowledge)

Haven't you heard? They're not out in England yet, and when we get them we'll have to pay 20% more per star than you do in the US! Don't worry, it's been reported to the EU's trading standards body

(Sorry to whoever's no-stars reason I stole - but it made me laugh most!)

Close. It's more like csh, bash, or sh on a Mac. But the terminal does need one of those (or another shell) to work.

Yeah, but I heard they were going to be holographic and yellow to prevent counterfeiting.
