Yes that's right.I recieved a call today around 4 o'clock from my uncle telling me that over my holiday break from school we're going to Apple SoHo so he can get his iBook, airport setup, a digital camera, and a nice photo printer. My uncle purchased my powerbook for me when school started and i usually bring it with me to his house so he can see the stuff im doing on it and such. Well after playing with it for 20 mintues and seeing how easy it is to use he says i want one...list my dell on ebay for me. He was amazed at how they are virus free, and yet how fun they are to use.

Well i can't wait to go purchase him with it, i think i may be more excited then when he bought me mine.

Very cool!

I have two converts in my list... and who knows, I might have more, but I have stopped evangelizing. Let people deal with their own problems, I can't lead them to salvation from the m$S hell.

Edit: Unless it was family and friends... then I'll preach for os X.

8 days of my 3 week honeymoon this summer was in NYC. I have very fond memories of the SoHo Apple store! Namely, after shopping in the Victoria's Secret store with my wife for a little present for her to wear, she wanted to go shopping in clothing store after clothing store. I took a little wander down Prince St (I think it was) and lo and behold... Mac Mecca!!!

She came and found me a couple of hours later as I was helping the demo person show Garageband ( I am a musician). I asked her how she knew I was there and she said "where else would you be???"

The only sad thing was the damage she did to my credit card. Have fun with your shopping... buying a new Mac is such a great feeling!

It is. I love NYC, been there several times, and I must say that SoHo is always a favourite part of the trip.

Cheers,

James

Congrats on the conversion.

But to impress him even more, find the exact system online (iBook, Airport, camera, etc.) at different stores using some of the deal sites (dealmac.com, techbargains.com, dealsontheweb.com, etc.) YOu may have to buy them from different stores, but if you can get a lower price (and you usually can online compared to the Apple store, or at least with better deals) with no taxes and/or free shipping, he'll be even more impressed.

The Apple stores are great for getting new users to try Macs/iPods, etc. for possible conversions, but I would never buy there because there's usually a better deal out there.
