Look at the following vintage Apple technology terms I found are recognized by OS X's spelling dictionary (through trial and error, not peeking):

OpenDoc

CyberDog

MultiFinder

CDEV

RDEV

ResEdit

INIT

MacsBug

It's good to see OS X is cognizant of its roots. How many more can we add to my list?

It wasn't bad for its time. It was used to showcase OpenDoc - a decent idea that never panned out. The neat thing was you could have one window with panes for email, web, and newsgroups. You could design that page anyway you wanted. (Or have different pages for different things).

It was very interesting, but it was competing against Netscape at the time and it was an icon (fast, clean and free... nothing like it is today) (IE was just coming on to the scene... and was considered a joke)

Unfortunately, many of these cool technologies came out when the Mac platform was on the brink of folding. Apple was in the red quarter after quarter, their hardware was literally 2X as much as the PC side of the fence (nothing like today where the prices are very comparable) and the direction of the OS was very much in question.

Apple was creating cool technologies, but they weren't reaching the consumer level.
