I've been reading up on DAW control surfaces and found this. I'm a big fan of keyboard shortcuts, so I would love a control surface that would switch between my own personally created user interfaces as I switched apps. What do you think?

Cool, the interface looks a bit like that computer system you see in star trek.

Exactly, and imagine it system wide. Maybe with iTunes it only shows big transport buttons? Or your equalizer as well? Or maybe just put your doc in it and use it like a big touch pad that reflects the physical size of your screen? With more complex apps you could really streamline your work processes. Wireless DAW control surfaces are starting to appear, why not a wireless version of this? I'm imagining sleek white slabs from Apple ...

The down side is always fine control. Our fingers are big and fat. I agree with the iTunes argument and a bunch of other applications where accuracy isn't really a factor, but to be honest, I'm either typing or designing on my mac. Not much else...

Sometimes those touch pads don't work too well when they get cold.
