Well im interested where people are from. I am guessing that there is people from all over the world posting here and being some one interested in the world and places how about a picture thread of your city. Rule is this. One post per day with one picture of the city you live in. Ideal try not to post the same picture if some one else has and orginals are best. The hard part will be finding that great one picture that represents your home. I'll start since its my post.
People of MacNN I introdcude to you Vancouver Canada
I chose this picture cuz if gives you a good look at the downtown, stanley park and the north shore mountains.
Vancouver (GVRD) Population 2.1 Million

2nd Largest Cargo port in North America after New York
3rd Largest Film Production location after LA and Toronto.
3rd Largest City in Canada.
Voted Number 1 city in the world 6 times in a row, currently holds 3rd spot.

I chose this picture, because there are lots of beautiful parks all over the city, so I wanted a photo that included at least one.

Yeah part of the deal is that you have to stick to the image size limits.
Or wait for Tookie to remove your post.

Oh that looks real nice, I really want to make Australia a place to visit in the next few years. Vancouver is currently tied with I think Sydney for 3rd best overall place to live in the world. A Great picture.

I get no love for coming from a sub-1000 town? Come on, our entire town is 5 blocks wide! And a block is like 100 Feet... (practically)

Nice thread.
I live in this New England town, and have lived here most of my life. My house is on this photo very close to the lower river.
And here's a close-up of the downtown. Being New England, we have a lot of different churches. Mine is the gold-domed one on the right.

A rather dismal looking pic of Leeds, i live in a small village 10 miles away. Looks horrible, but is an awesome place to live with great shopping and even better nightlife. The village i live in is a typical English one, nice large park, 3 pubs for a few pints and quaint old cottages, doesnt come cheap though, but beats city centre life hands down!!
This is the old Corn Exchange building, now full of boutique shops
And within 15 minutes i can be driving around in the beautiful scenery of the Yorkshire Dales.

If you look out the windows in the staff break room where I work you see this.
The top-boss sees this view when he gets up from his desk.
I live just below the 5 in 395 in the lower center of this image.

GARDEN CITY, MICHIGAN
Garden City was named just after World War I when it was developed as a suburban community for autoworkers looking for houses with lots large enough for gardens. Indeed the name of the area is derived from its residents' long-time interest in landscaping and gardening.
Recreation is also an important part of the Garden City Community. Garden City enjoys parks with outdoor swimming and wading pools, horseshoe pits, ball diamonds, and tennis, racquetball and basketball courts. And Their Maplewood Community Center's facilities include a gym, a weight room, a putting green, game room, kitchen and meeting room.
Garden City is a quiet suburb whose residents are civic and social-minded.
Garden City was the first site for two highly successful retail operations. Mike Illitch began his Little Caesars empire with a take-out restaurant which opened here in 1959. In 1962, K-Mart opened its first discount department store here followed by 17 more stores in other cities later that same year

Hm.... can't find any good "pics" of the city. Not much here anyways, a search on Google images turned up a bunch of local's pics. And a few of Wonder Woman - who's a resident as well.

Moving on the 10th of Jan to rue de Bievre, the street Mitterand used to live in, right next to Notre Dame.
As for Paris someone should dig up that awesome panoramic shot from the top of Notre Dame.

Couple Universities here in Vancouver
This is UBC (University of British Columbia)
This second one SFU (Simon Frasier University) might be recognized by some in shows like Sliders, X-Files, and Stargate SG1, a lot of films have filmed up there for there futuristic look.

This wil have to do until I get a decent camera. This is a pic from '98 I found online. Now there's a starbucks on the left, a boardwalk straight ahead, and 2 surf shops on the right - as well as a pretty big city.

Places I have called home:

Ashland, Oregon, a charming town of 20,000. I was born in a bed my father built.

Seattle, Washington. Truly a wonderful city.

Lima, Peru. I loved my year here.
removed at the request of the webhost of the picture
And, New York, New York. My favorite place so far, except that I miss mountains terribly.

Langley, BC. Canada, about 45mins out of Vancouver.

We get a lot of these things around here too. Couldnt find a pic on google of a cracker from my town, but a fair representation.

Approx 23 in 100 house's is a Marijauna grow up. My city also has a large crackhead problem too.Just one of many examples lol. http://www.langleytimes.com/portals-...532&more=1
