Mac gaming site Inside Mac Games has been offline all day.
If this is correct it's bad news since it runs on an XServe.

yes, indeed, but they don't provide much of an explanation, then I stumbled with the "Defaced" page where the forums used to be.

Sounds like a BBS software issue rather than an Xserve/OS X issue.
