Christ wasn't born on Dec 25, so be happy with the mug. It's more than he got.

I got the mug on Dec. 24th, as we, here in Germany, celebrate Christmas eve on Dec. 24th.

Actually, Jesus (messiah or not) was likely born in March or April as the census and taxation took place normally at the beginning of the harvest season. If not, it was at the end of the harvest season and Octoberish.
Dec 25 was a pagan holiday that early Christian leaders "adopted" as Christ's birthday.

...I think everyone celebrates Christmas Eve on Dec. 24th (what with Christmas proper usually being on the 25th 'n all).

I think that is a very nice Mug. After all it's the thought that counts.

Not only that, but Jesus was likely born in 6 B.C. due to miscalculations by Dionysius Exiguus when constructing the modern Christian calendar. Some people now believe the star of Bethlehem was actually the retrograde motion of the planet Jupiter, which appeared in the constellation of Aries on April 17, 6 B.C. That is when these same people believed the 3 kings set out to find the new King of the Jews (probably Jesus' birthday). They are believed to have arrived in Bethlehem when Jupiter came to rest above the city and began moving back towards the West again on December 19, 6 B.C., some 8 months after his birth. So I guess this upcoming Christmas could (should?) technically be April 17th, 2011 A.D.

You know those are just voices in your head, right? You can't have a 'personal relationship' with your own imagination.

Yup, "CE" and "BCE" -- "common era" and "before common era".
I, aside from my usual knee-jerk reflex to PC condemnation of any good word, argue that "CE" and "BCE" are even less PC than AD and BC -- calling it "common era" implies that it is common to all, which is most certainly not true. BC and AD, while clearly religiously based, don't imply that you believe in Christ.
CE and BCE are still based on Christ, and by calling it "common", it is even less inclusive. (Try telling the Chinese that it's the "common era".)
I for one refuse to use CE/BCE.

I remember hearing about this my freshman year of college. I was a CS major, and sitting in one of those mandatory liberal arts classes (political science, I believe). Anyway, we were reading in the text, and the instructor came across BCE.
"BCE, what does that mean?" says the instructor
some PC-sheep/female rich-girl liberal arts major raises her hand.
"Oh, it means Before the Common Era, it's a new term to replace Before Christ. So if you are a Muslim or Atheist you won't be offended by the way the west has divided history."
"Wow, that's interesting" says the instructor.
"Wow, that's retarded", says I, under my breath.
A quick to offend girl (with learning disabilities) sitting nearby heard me, and in a not so quiet voice said "EXCUSE ME, WOULD YOU MIND NOT SAYING THAT, BECAUSE I'M RETARDED AND IT OFFENDS ME"
The response she got from me was simply:

My impression is that most scholars don't believe the census story is even true. It was just a way of coming up with a story in which Jesus (of Nazareth) got to Bethlehem to be born, where the Gospel writers believed the Messiah should have been born because Bethlehem was the city of David. I doubt there's a shred of factual truth in any of the Christmas story. Unlike the Easter story, which I think probably has the basic facts down correctly.

It's called... what exactly is IT? The assumptions you make upon my character and my mental health without having a chance to actually examine me? I thought psychology was the study of how the mind works? Not the knee jerk assumptions made by an ignorant intolerant, not to mention small minded individual?
I would suggest you not claim your assumptions to be psychology, you make those of us who actually give thought to the study of the mind look bad.

Mrtew made the comment that it was just inside your head, not Thilo. He just jumped on the wagon hoping to get a few good insults in.

I was only refering to psychology which he was using for his assumptions and did not use telepathy. I also tried to emphasize that you think the way every human being thinks. Thus psychology works here neatly, instead of telepathy, since we're only looking for your motives and not what is actually happening (whether there's a god talking to you in your brain or not). He did not state it, but "voices in your head", imho, implied a psychological disease. That's why i corrected you with your supernatural assumption (that he was doing telepathy). Sorry to drag you out of your spiritual life down to earth.
