Mine is from myself: Dual 2.0GHz G5 with some bells and whistles.

I got tired of waiting for the 3.0GHz machines and decided to take my friend's offer of a pretty nifty discount (he works for Apple). I'll sell this one shortly after the 3.0GHz machines come out and get one of those since I really, really want one.

Anyway, what was the best gift you got this holiday season?

I got a beautiful old painting in a wonderful old Italian frame and a love letter from my spouse.

I tucked the letter into the back of the old painting and it will stay there for myself to read from time to time...and our children to find one day.

Did she build you a cake?

Did she rent you part of Texas?

Im lovin it. And with the new "would you like to transfer all your junk from an old mac" feature i already have it up and running with all my old crap on it and my prefs and everything is already set up... amazing. it only took about 1 hour to move it all over firewire. maybe 2 hours... i wasn't counting.

I tried the Firewire Transfer feature and while it worked, it didn't work as I wanted it to. See, I had two Mac OS X partitions in my old Mac and FT copied the wrong partition. For folks like myself with multiple OS partitions adding a "which OS settings would you like to copy" option would be very nice.

My Wife insist that I wait till my Birthday for the gift of a new G5.
Perhaps by March they will have a 3Ghz machine.

Good luck, seeing as they just barely have 2.5 GHz (three months delivery time? puh-leeeze.)

Best present: New house. Big new house.

We're moving to Landenberg, PA (new job in Newark, DE, which I'll start at the end of March). We sign for the house on Wednesday!

Probably too big, but I'm sure my kids will find a way to fill it with their toys... a few in each room!

My contractor wrapped it in Tyvek.

Even though he started it back in November, he officially finished his work on Dec 23. That's when I moved the cars in.

NOW it is, yes.

Considering they've only really been shipping with anything near "normal" delivery times for a few weeks now, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a speed bump come January.

Really.

Mine is the gift that I haven't received yet. My wife also want me to get a new Power Mac G5.

iPod Mini. I love it! It's a blue one.

Second best gift would probably be the book "Digital Fortress" by Dan Brown, and "Angels and Demons" and "Deception Point," all by dan Brown. I have read digital fortress and it was good.

Next would be the Sims Superstar.
