[Mac Write]

Well I got a Kodak 100 Pack DVD-R 4x for x-mas, and only the top DVD has a writeable surface on it. all the other DVD-R's are a silver reflective surface. Can I write on this? or am I screwed? Would it be save to write on this clear reflective silver surface?

I'm not sure I really understand what your saying. But, what I think your asking is, can I write on the top of my blank if it is reflective? If thats the question then the answer is yes, well at-least I've never had a problem with my silver topped Taiyo Yudens.

oops. meant doesn't have a writable surface. looks like the bottom of a CD/DVD. since They where 70¢/each on sale (normally $1.20 each) I assume they are more archival quality. I haven't seen this since my friends cheapo CD's in 2000, and worried writing on them would hurt their long term reliability. I bought a 200 Pack of another brand (Mitsume (SP)) and they were only 30¢/each on sale (normally 70¢/each) but have a white top surface that almost looks printable.

Just take a black, permanent Sharpie. If you can write on it, then you can write on it.

it'll work, as long as youre writing on the correct side of the disc (don't write on the side that the laser touches).
