a NASA geophysicist theorizes that the quake compacted the Earth enough to speed up the planet's rotation by 3 microseconds.
Only impact I could see is on satellites and things related eventually, yes the islands moved (quite a bit) but plates have been shifting for billions of years to get where they are today, nothing will stop them from moving
The core is warm, there is much going on underneath, it is to be expected, too bad 70,000 (so-far) lives were ended, while unrelated forces, millions of dinos paid the same price.
