Phuket (how does one pronounce that - sounds like f**k it !), isn't just about dead people and tsunamis.

One british couple decided to go ahead with their wedding plans anyhow.

I bet they'll have one hell of a wedding album.

Sounds kind of insenstive, but it's not like all the tourism industry can afford to just shut down.

Pronounced POO-ket, by the way.

I read tourism is partly to blame for many deaths because the tourism ministry wouldn't allow any warnings about anything, for fear of hurting the tourism industry.

Reminds me of Jaws I.

What warning?

Pooh-ket is a fun island. Phi Phi (fi fi) island is where they shot the Leo DiCaprio flick, The Beach.

Was there a few months ago.

An example that even in disaster, life continues.

"Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never - in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense." Winston Churchill

that's a pretty cool story. reminds me of the people after 9/11 saying that they were scared to fly. i would imagine that statistically, now is one of the better times to visit if you fear tsunamis.

good for them.

In theory, it's good. Buyt with limited resources and the clean-up still in process, the wisdom loses a little. Even the Thai travel ministry is asking people not to visit at this point.
