On New Year's Eve I generally try and either stay within walking distance of home or with friends who have spare bedrooms. Tonight I'll keeping it quiet, dinner at a lovely little neighbourhood restaurant with my wife.

Followed by the obligatory midnight smooch of course.

The roomies and I are having a li'l get-together here at the apartment. I'll be DJ'ing most of the night, so I wont be able to drink all that much, but it should be fun nevertheless.

I will be volunteering at my Church. It is one of our largest outreach programs. We aren't officially part of "First Night" in Boston. No need to have a button. Our church offers a continuous concert from 7:30 - 10:30pm. There will be three different groups performing. Hannake Cassel, a Scottish Fiddler; Maeve, a Boston based all female trio; and Chris Bradley. It is a welcoming place for people to come in out of the weather. Besides the concert there is always the needed restrooms. We are offering hot chocolate and apple cider.

yea, so.. probably some ridiculous debauchery of some sorts

some friends are talking about a party in Miami thrown by Paris Hilton. I might not make it down there tho.

I HAVE TO WORK.

third new year in a row that I've worked, and I promise I'll not work another New Years Eve in my life.

regardless, we probably will start consuming MASS QUANTITIES of champagne around 11.30ish, followed by all the guests asking "Where's my waiter???" around 12 as we're somewhere we shouldn't be doing things we shouldn't be doing.

$100 bucks per person, 4 course dinner, champagne/liquor not included.

I hope I make some god damned money tonight.

happy new year folks.

Party at my friend's house in MI. We're supposed to get loaded and play hockey, but it was 45º today and the ice is now slush. I'm guessing we'll still play while we're drunk, so I'll bring some ropes and floatation devices just in case.

I'm going to head over to Chicago tomorrow for a few days with my friend that's gotta work late in Detroit tonight (he's a chef). I'm planning on a drunken Rose Bowl celebration tomorrow because I'm not getting too bad tonight.

Chicagoans: We're going up to Joe's on Weed St. tomorrow for the game if anyone wants to get a beer (or 10).

I'm working tonight. About 10 PM we'll start getting geared up for round after round of hand-to-hand combat with all those fine folks that'll be coming in after imbibing too much liquid asshole. A good time will be had by all.

dinner, brewery, bar (with 3 bands), home. 1 beer, 1 cider, 3 gin and tonics, 2 red bulls, and a liter of water over a period of about 5-6 hours.

it was a good night.

Went to dinner with the wife at a local sushi bar, and then we caught a movie. Lo and behold, it was 2005 when we exited the theater.

I work in a looney-bin. The city cops no longer have a drunk tank, so they dump all the drunks and crackheads they don't want to deal with in our psychiatric ER (someone needs to explain to them the difference between intoxicated and crazy). It turned out to be not so bad. I left at midnight new years eve, and we only had one real 'problem' patient before I left. The night shift guys got slammed though.
