According to the following site: Federal Trade Commision

... everyone will be entitled to one free credit report from any of the 3 (or all 3) credit agencies once a year. In some western states resident can get their reports starting Dec 1, 2004... the others will be able to do so later on this year.

Haw anyone actually done this through the following site?

I trust the FTC site, but still I would like to get some feedback... has anyone done this already?

not available in my state yet, but will once it does.

i've paid for mine, and do it twice a year actually, all 3 reports, plus credit score.

Hm... interesting. That link can only be accessed by directly typing it , a link from one of the three credit agencies, or the FTC. I guess that gives it some validity?

As a MD resident, I've always just requested my free reports from the 'big three' directly (just the basic info, no score). But it looks like this is something new and from now on you'll have to get it from here. But it says its later on this year before my area gets it... does that superceed the original requirement for MD residents (and some other states) to be able to request it annually? I usually do it in Feb.

Original press release. I remember reading about this on /. when it was announced. Have to wait till June though.

I am in AZ, and thinking about giving this a shot... but it would make me feel better if someone would give me their experience with it... :-)

i got my credit report with it. only one of the three agencies' sites actually worked, however, so i'm waiting on paper copies of the other two that probably will never show up.
