Since when is booing and yelling you suck wrong? Every artist takes that risk when they get up on stage. If she can't take it then too bad for her.

Maybe if this kind of thing happens more often we'd have less of this garbage shoved down our throats.

She is by no means fat... BUT, she has put on a few lbs lately. She looked quite bad and sounded worse. I don't feel sorry for her, if I do bad my my clients tell me about it. She does bad, her clients booed her!

Actually, the entire halftime show pretty much sucked. Kelly Clarkson was off cadence, off-key and screetchy, Trace Atkins was mumbly and boring, but Ashlee beat them all with her squawking voice and crappy dancing. Even their backup singers were terrible. All three of them kept fumbling with their earpieces like they never had used one before. They all deserved to be booed off the field, it was horrific.

Oh by the way, stop having the 500 dancers on the field do their ridiculous stage rush, hopping around with the star, just so they can all stop and pose as the song comes to an end. Pathetic.

Bull.

It's a prerequisite for appearance on most TV shows, unless you happen to be Prince or something.

And in those cases where the voice is live, but everything else is playback, you can say that only a musician with no integrity would do that, but hell, it's *advertising*. And professional musos generally have real trouble making ends meet, so cancelling playback gigs (generally resulting in dropping out of the band) is simply not an option.

I think they were lines from her song "You Make Me Wanna LaLa." That was terrible. If she had sung it well and not screeched and been in tune, it would have looked and sounded great, but unfortunately, she didnt.

That explains EVERYTHING.

During a live concert, every musician (and especially the singers) HAVE TO have either speakers or in-ears to hear what the others are doing, and more importantly, what the hell they themselves are doing. On a large stage and, at worst, open-air, you CANNOT hear the other band members. Piping back an individually-tailored signal onto the stage is called monitoring.

If the backup vocals were completely off and they were fumbling with their earpieces (backing singers are usually hired absolute professionals), then you know that monitor sound was probably dead or really, really unusable. For vocalists, it can help a bit to put a finger in one ear. But in general, if that happens, singers are f*cked (the band can usually get just enough of the drummer to get through, provided they're lucky enough to hear themselves - problem for keyboards - or are expert enough to decently play "blind".

So anyway, either the monitor technician or some piece of equipment was wrecked.

Of course, her lack of talent may have compounded the problem.
