and he championed Comics as a literary artform in the US.

Yeah, I read this is the paper this morning. A great guy and a great artist, writer, and champion of comics as a serious storytelling medium. He'll be missed by a lot of people.

you think no thought goes into comics?

read one of his instruction books on sequential art and have your mind blown on how much: work, skill, talent, hard work and thought goes into every page of a comic.
