The gear -- a jacket, helmet and beanie cap -- will allow the wearer to enjoy music or phone calls or to toggle between the two with their Bluetooth-enabled Motorola phone and iPod wired into a padded pocket.
The pocket adapter is connected to a selector on the sleeve and integrated with the phone, according to Motorola's Bruce Hauber.
For the helmet and beanie cap, the wearer will listen to music through the specially equipped phone. The music will pause when a phone call is received.
They are believed to be the first fully integrated tech-clothing items and mark the latest step in the melding of technology and fashion.
The companies are expected to announce the deal this week at the Consumer Electronics Show and ship the items to stores early next fall.
Burton's jackets sell for US$200 up to $800, and the new interactive products will sell in the upper middle of that range.

Suggesting that the new flash based device will have a bluetooth headset?
Any more speculations?

I want the shades to be dope looking. not like freakin' MTV Boiling Points.

I tried skiing with an iPod once. It was very distracting as I couldn't hear people coming up from behind. Would be useful for lifts though. The cell phone feature sounds useful.
Oh I'm sorry was I not supposed to make a serious comment?

I ski with the rozwadPod all the time. I got those sony EX71SL headphones that block most of the outside noise, so I can't hear much.
You have to remember that when you ski, you are not responsible for people uphill from you. It's perfectly fine to not hear anything above you, as long as you don't hit anyone in front of you. Having said that, you can also pick aggressive lines and people won't be able to catch you.

my iPod's great for at the gym. I don't know if I'd wear one skiing though... my head phones tend to crap out when I'm even out shoveling snow
