Does anyone know a way to save voicemails from a cell phone? I don't have any type of wired connection to my Mac or bluetooth, and don't believe I can send it to an email address from my phone. I have a message from a drunk college friend that would be a crime were it to be erased.

I know I've seen this done before...someone posted a link to a site w/ 500 messages from a bitter ex-girlfriend.
Just my $.02 :-)

Is that what you want to do ?
I think one site is enough...

Just mic it. It won't be the greatest sound quality, but it's like the original could have been the best quality anyway. Just put it on speakerphone and record.

Nein. No intentions of creating a site or anything, just perhaps passing it along to a few friends. I'll have to try using the mic, but I don't know how well it'll work. I don't have speakerphone...not yet at least.

Let me know how that works.
It's weird, I was just thinking about posting a thread about this this morning to see if anyone knew how and I came on and read this, and have the same situation (no connection to computer, speakerphone, message from drunk friends lol).

You were saying you could send the message to an email address...how does that work?

most, if not all voicemail can be called from any phone.

if your laptop or computer has a modem. simply plug it into a phone jack and dial in to get your messages. while i don't have one in front of me, i know there is 'phone' software for the mac. i've used one on my AV Performa 6400 back on the OS 8 days. someone had to have created that software for OS X. then simply capture the audio. check versiontracker for all the software.

edit:
here is the phone software

I just performed this operation not more than a few days ago.

1. Get one of those gizmos from Radio Shack that allow you to tape sound from a conventional telephone.
2. Plug the output from said gizmo into your line-in/mic jack on your laptop.
3. Check cell-phone voice mail from land-line.
4. When voice mail starts to play, hit record.

I downloaded phoner and wiretap and it works perfectly except that phoner keeps hanging up the call after about 35-45 seconds. To make sure it wasn't my voicemail, I called my cellphone and just talked into it and heard my voice through my speakers but it still cut off after about 45 seconds.

Anyone know why this is cutting off? Does it cut off on you too?

And incase anyone else is wondering, to check your voicemail through phoner you have to type what you normally would to check it, but use commas to pause. Example: For verizon, when calling from a different number you have to press # then some other numbers to play the message. "number, #, password #, 1"

nevermind. i reread what you put. i was going to say you weren't making any noise on the phoner side, so it though it needed to hang up. keeps pranks from happening with calling some place and leaving the phone off the hook.
