Jesus - AAPL is up over $4.50 (as of 1pm eastern) which represents a 7% gain. I'll never really understand what makes the market work exactly. One analyst raised its estimate today for next week's earning release, but a different analyst raised its estimate a few days ago to little effect. Either way, I'm glad I got in early

Remember - it's not when you buy, it's when you sell that's important!

I'm just worried that this represents the build up both for MacWorld products, but also a estimate-beating quarterly release. Here's hoping Apple doesn't screw up.

I'd be selling before Tuesday if I owned any AAPL, but then who knows. The stock always seems to build up prior to good news, and then drop.

iTunes on Motorola phones. This is enough to make Apple go to hundred dollars sometime in the next two three months. Everything else coming at Macworld SF is extra money for the company. More products in the Apple shops means more better use of space, more products to sell per square foot.

These things aren't always based on Apple-specific news or rumors. The rest of the markets are doing pretty well today, so it could be something completely non-Apple related that's lifting everything.

I think it's expectation for the $500 Mac. Everyone's been talking about the halo effect with the iPod and Apple's computer marketshare.

Exactly my thought, if the design is good it might just be a success (if true)
I don't know, a lot of people focus on specs now a days... hmm.

So pissed I couldn't buy at $18/sh (no money). Now, have job and money and don't want to buy after a 400% run-up over the last 6 months.

if you have stock sell it, the stock is only so high because all the rumors have held out it will inevitably plummet when the flash ipod and the ihome media centre do not come out.

If I remember correctly, the market usually yawns at new product announcements from Apple at MacWorld. They waited until Apple was selling tons of iPods -- and recording the revenue from them -- before jumping on that bandwagon.

The real key is going to be the earnings report -- if Apple can beat expectations then I think the stock is likely to go up further. Other people do, too -- that's why the stock is up this week. I think this earnings report is a winner, and I I've actually got money riding on it this time. Let's see how I do...

Me too. Kindof a nice feeling to win for once. I sure hope I don't wait till it's at $12 to sell like I did last time. I'm such an idiot!

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

My uncle bought it at 15 or something and sold it at 80-something back in 2000 (or 2001). He bought a top-of-the-line G4/400 with that money

Pardon me for tooting my own horn, but I'm just excited that I got something right for a change!

Well, almost right: I didn't expect the post-Macworld dip, but now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense. Hindsight is 20/20 after all.

Well, I won't worry too much -- I'm happy today!
