Don't care for the pea green color. It has a negative connotation.

It has no buttons and no screen, but I've already fallen in love with it.

Me too, I can't wait till it comes to Best Buy. My gift cards from christmas are going to a great thing. Thank you to all of the people who couldn't figure out what to buy me, your Best Buy gift cards will be well used. The joys of being a computer geek.

If apple made a plastic rectangle for $99.00 I'd buy three!

Seems to me, if Apple's going to release a 1GB iPod (240 songs.. meh) without a screen, it better be REALLY cheap (though, knowing Apple, that's unlikely). I dunno.. I just don't see this thing as being very useful.
Then again, I thought (and still think) the iPod Mini is way over-priced and kinda shitty (considering the $50 = 15GB upgrade), apparently millions of people have felt otherwise.
Ahh well.. whatever. I hope we're just getting smoke-and-mirrors speculation on this thing. With only a "random" option, the thing will just end up pissing me off

I'm with you. I thought the iPod mini was attractive to people that weren't willing to make the $300 commitment. Especially college students that got the educational discount to make the iPod mini $229. but that's just my 2¢.
This thing without a screen/wheel will tank IMHO... unless it's dirt cheap as in $79 - $100.

With the mini, size (of the unit) is much more important than size (of the hard drive).

I'm not sure I'd bet against Apple at this point. According to more than a few people, the iPod, iPod mini, and iTMS were all destined to fail. Any way you look at it, AAPL is on a roll.

I'm not sure. with both the iPod and iPod mini, I said "cool" technically and aesthetically. I'm just not sure I will be so excited about a no screen/no wheel iPod. I just don't see apple doing it. I could be wrong. There are a bunch of no screen options out there. I was just hoping for a smaller, less expensive iPod.

i feel exactly the same way. that one aluminum flash mock up i've been linking, not sure who put it up ... that was lustworthy. and rumors of radio ... all the better ... no screen, no options .. shuffle-age ... not a fan of the news. hope there's more to this one..

The "Shuffle". Are we sure its just a flash based iPod. Maybe it doubles as an AirTunes/iTunes remote ... that can directly control media from the rumored headless iMac/media center thing connected to a TV/Stereo. hmmmm ..... maybe you can plug a real iPod into an A/V system and control it with this contraption too. Wasn't their some rumored "hidden functionality" in the 4G iPods that was supposedly only going to come apparent at a later time ?

This thing better have an fm tuner and recording capabilities as well, or I will sue the pants off apple for putting humanity through all the goddammed suspense!

It's maybe some kind of new Service/technology. I really don't see them introducing a screen-less iPod. Well, I hope not.

Maybe the new iPod flash has a random play feature that could trickle up to the mini and regular iPods so we'll finally have a real random play function. Maybe? Anyone? Bueller?
