I love this product. I even plan on buying one for my parents. But i think Apple could have gone a step further with it as far as software. i think some people have suggested it aas well.

Image a piece of software bundeled with the mini.... that lets you use it as a TV device and the Superdrive as a video recorder in your living room ?....unplug it, plug in a monitor and keyboard and you got yourself a computer. hook it upto a TV, and you go into media sharing mode in the package in OSX. listen to music on the disk, watch slideshows, watch iMovies, watch TV, watch DVDs. All the hardware is there, except for the AV inputs which can easily be accomodated via a firewire adaptor(ala DV bridge). And using s-video/composite out ports to hook upto a television. i'd buy one in a jiffie and use it as my main computer/dvd player/TV recorder. I think it would be way cool if Apple includes such an application in this product's next iteration. Then it would appeal to many of us who dont even need another Macintosh.

The harware is there, most of the software is there as well.

Suggestions ?

It seems that all current Mac users envision the Mac mini as a PVR.

That's because they already have a Mac to work with and are looking for an excuse to buy the cute little sucker anyway.
