Anybody use an HDTV as a monitor (using DVI)? The question arises because I'm thinking about getting a Samsung DLP and using it as a monitor for my forthcoming Mac mini. Could any of you TV gurus tell me which HDTVs have the highest resolution?
DLP is my first choice, but I'll consider others. I don't watch much TV, so I'm looking for a monitor that could be used as a TV too -- which means I could also buy a 23" display and an eyeTV.

remember hdtv compatible tv's only makes a difference if your pushing signal through an hd reciever, or hd satelite signal. if your not planning on using a progressive scan dvd player or hdtv save some money .

Most (if not all?) DLP TVs currently are 1280x720 native resolution (that is the resolution of the display). Anything else is either up/downconverted (meaning a 1080i broadcast for-example is downconverted to 720p).
The highest res HDTV is some Samsung that is 1080p native resolution (1920x1080 progressive). A few others might also have 1080p sets, I am not sure.

You'd have to sit pretty close to the screen if I read you correctly. I'd rather have a 23" or 30" display, which has a higher resolution than the HDTVs. If you wanted, there are wall mounts available. I think it is a better investment. Add a TV recorder, too.

If I had a PB with DVI I'd go over to Circuit City, tell the sales guys to stfu and run some tests. But I don't, so I'm F'd.
