Is website one word or two? At Dictionary.com it seems acceptable to use either "website" or "web site." Apple tends to use "website" as does Microsoft. -Just curious...

I reckon "web site" is better English, but "website" is acceptable (even though OS X spell checker doesn't think so). I use the former.

Well, dump your Mac and switch to Windows.
Just 'coz something is numerically superior, don't make it right.

This is interesting:

web site: 51.8 million
web-site: 42.8 million

Why does "web site" gain 10.3 million hits when it runs against "web-site"?

This seems to be a case of acceptable usage... it may not be grammatically correct, but it is used in the vernacular to the extent that the word, while incorrect in a formal sense, is accepted without undue comment.

Don't try to outweird me, I get stranger things than you free with my breakfast cereal.

From the Associated Press Style Book: Web site. Two words, Web capitalized because it's a short form of World Wide Web.

Web site, Web page, but webcam, webcast, webmaster.
