Agreed. The fastest way to do that is to use the free iPhoto-like image searcher Beholder Lite.
Just type in your query, it'll fetch the thumbanils from Google. See a thumbnail from a site that looks like it's interesting? Click on the thumbnail and select "Start Web Scan In -> Page URL" from the "Result" menu (or use Command-G). Beholder Lite will then open another contact sheet and start filling it with thumbnails from all the images on that site.
Tips: Use Command-M to get more results from Google. Double-click thumbnails to load up the full image.
IMHO, it's nice to Google search for images in one contact sheet, instead of paging through results.
