Would you switch to Windows for $1000? You can't buy a Mac or another computer with the $1000...

Just curious.

Add a couple more zero's and I would consider it.

This may sound abnormal but I really mean it - I would not dump Mac OSX for a million dollars cash. I mean it. I really really mean it.

Er...I fixed my post. It's difficult to type with one hand, read the screen and rest on my side at the same time. On any operating system.

You'd need the grand to buy all of the software that you'd need to keep adware, spyware and virii out of it.

Then by next year, you have to resubscribe to those services.

For US$1,000? I'd do it ... for a day. Maybe 18 hours. More than that? no!

I'd switch for $1,000 plus the fastest PC to date and a copy of Doom 3. (I'll switch back after beating the game of course.)

No, I switched to the Mac in the first place for a reason, to get away from Windows and DOS.

Well this is weird. If you had the 1000 bucks, then you could afford two Mac minis. How could you not buy a Mac then? I think if there was a rule that did not allow you to buy a Mac then there would be desperate attempts to break it.

Since I have used Windoze at work for several years, you'd have to pay me at least $10,000,000 to even consider switching.

I've got a Shuttle AMD box as a second computer, purely for games. It's a great console

Every now and then there's a piece of software that you can't get on a mac (yet), that's why, but honestly, most of the cool software is Mac only.

I would say I would switch but I really wouldn't. I would just leave a prop up in the living room or something and hide the G5 in a secret room. Other then that I feel the same way as RonnieoftheRose.

My PowerBook cost more than that... why on earth would I dump it? Perhaps I might take 1000 bucks if you simply wanted me to have one... granted I'd install Linux on it and figure out how to make some use out of it.

Are you so sure? With that kind of money, I could switch back in an instant, only to a much nicer Mac than the one I currently have, and I'd have a bunch of cash left. And a spare PC for testing in case I ever decide to make a real web site instead of just an HTML page with some hyperlinks to my software apps.

For $1000, on the other hand... hell no.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

I dumped over $2000 for my PowerBook. I'd never switch back for $1000...

For $10,000, I might consider it.

For $100,000, I'd do it in a second. Mac OS X is better, but it is not$100,000 better. Windows really isn't that horrible, and those of you who think otherwise are just deluding yourselves.

And just think of all the games you could buy with $100K....
