May I ask for some basic instruction as to how and what the bandwidth limit is?

Not really. I am actually a film major and will be using the website to promote a current project.

Honestly, I'm not sure what the bandwidth limitations are. I use mine for hosting some pictures, and that's about it. I've never looked into bandwidth because it's never been an issue for the use it gets.

That is how I do my domain name... I just point the name and it works fine. I use all the easy to use tools with .mac and have my own name. I host several videos that get downloaded a lot and I've never gotten a desist letter.

I'm not sure what these guys are on, but AFAIK, there is no possible way to actually host your domain on .Mac, since they don't give you any nameservers to work with. (unless this has changed since I had it)

There are workarounds, such as domain forwarding, domain masking, however when I had .Mac there was no possible way to actually host a domain with it, in the way you would with any other web host.

Here's how I do it.

I bought a domain at DirecNIC.com (idrivex.com) and then I got my .mac account (just happened to be idrivex, also but didn't have to be). Then I just signed up for a basic domain name from DirectNic.com with domain forwarding. I told it to forward itself anytime someone typed in "http://www.idrivex.com" to "http://homepage.mac.com/idrivex". Pretty simple and I never have to worry about it.

Benefits:

-When I throw a picture into my "sites" folder on my idisk. I can just tell people to go to www.idrivex.com/picture.jpg instead of http://homepage.mac.com/idrivex/picture.jpg. A little simpler.
- When it forwards, it doesn't redirect, it's almost as if it opens the homepage.mac.com... into a new frame, because the URL stays "www.idrivex.com" and doesn't change to the homepage.mac.com... So that way, if you don't want people knowing you use .mac or if you want them to remember your domain name and not get confused, this is a pretty nice feature.

Negatives:
-Sometimes people like to have stuff written at the top of their webpage. For example, as I write this the window says "MacNN Forums - Reply to Topic". When you do the domain forwarding it will always say "idrivex.com", even if you create a custom HTML document and put it in your sites folder and you give it a tag to put something in the title bar, it will still say idrivex.com

I did mine similar to iDrive X.

I went to www.godaddy.com and bought a domain. I configured the domina to do domain forwarding with domain masking.

That means, if you type in www.macintologistdomain.com it will redirect it to homepage.mac.com/macintologististe/index.html but the URL will continue to say www.macintologistdomain.com

Within the godaddy site you can set the title of the webpage to whatever you want, so iDriveX I'm not sure if that is just a limitation of your domain service or if it's there but you didn't know it.

The only problem is: I don't know the bandwidth limitations of Apple. No one has ever asked, and they never say. And another problem is that you need to use an external service such as Andale in order to count your hits.

If you don't want to buy a domain, I recommend www.dot.tk They have free .tk domains with basic hits and web traffice information. My liberal database uses it.

It's a limitation of my host, but it looks like your hit and web traffic information is a limitation of yours, I get full hit and web traffic information that is very detailed from DirecNIC.
