sorry, i know this is the wrong forum but more people are here right now i'm sure:
my wife is writing her thesis and for some reason Word crashed and she lost all of today's work. Before you ask: no, she did not back it up. Word was not creating backup copies, or autosaving (i just found this out now).
Is there any way to get this back, like, now?? I thought it may have been in the system cache somehow but I can't find anything........anyone??

hahahaha. thanks, i needed that.
Forget the recovery stuff, it's not there Oh well, I would have thought that the last times would have taught her to back up, but alas. Maybe this one will.
Now back to my work.....

Data Rescue X might be able to do a text Content Search. Enter some technical word from her thesis, and Data Rescue X might be able to pull up some cache file.
You can download a demo from http://www.prosofteng.com

Ddi you reboot or quit the app yet?
Word makes a hidden temp file with changes between saves. It should be there even if you don't have AutoSave activated. Good Luck!

One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.
