The Target ad this week in the newspaper has a purple iPod. I quickly scanned it in to show it off. Not too bad looking. Was this a Target slip up?

It just seems strange to me that Apple doesn't even have a purple one pictured on their site. Maybe they are going to drop the gold, blue and green? I wish the ad had said, "New 5 gig".

ya it seems strange that apple would release a new color but not update the hard drive. the only explanations are either printing screw up, or apple sent them the photo for a later ad, and target printed it early by accident.

That's what I though at first too, but the pictures usually show all five colors together when selling it. Now it only shows three, giving me doubts to your statement.
