I wonder how many customers Apple will lose due to the short supply of products? The Mac mini, iPod shuffle, iPod mini, iMac G5, and PowerMac Dual 2.5GHz have all seen supply problems recently. I know that Apple isn't the only company that this happens to.

The demand is there but the supply is not. A 3-4 week wait for a computer (Mac mini) just seems too long. Maybe my expectations are too high but this seems like bad business to me. Granted the press is eating it up and causing a ton of hype. As a loyal Apple customer I expect the wait. What about customers that are trying an Apple product for the first time? Are they going to continue to wait?

The only thing Apple has going for it is that there is nothing else like it... If it was a Dell, they would just buy an HP instead.

I don't know about the iPod shuffles, iMac G5s or Power Macs but I ordered a BTO Mac mini on Jan. 19th and was quoted a delivery date of Feb. 17th. Checked the order status today and it turns Apple shipped it on Feb. 1st.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!

A short term supply problem means sales are better than expected.

A long term supply problem means there are factory problems.

No supply problems means its time to update your products!
