What? That's the name of the party he's a member of. Keep in mind that this is Canada, not the US; the political parties are different.

Someone making a public screw up doesn't make a topic political. A post that mentions a political party or another country does not mean something belongs in the political forum. Give me one good reason why this is a political issue and I'll move it right now.

Why not? I don't see any reason posting them should be a political issue. The only thing that turns this stuff nasty is people that can't step outside of their respective political affiliations long enough to laugh at something funny. Hell, I've got pictures somewhere that I took during the last local school board elections. This guy had two professionally made 4'X8' signs in his yard that said "Vote No On The School Bugget" and "Three Strikes and Your Out" (the budget had already been voted down twice). Posting a picture like that would not mean that I agreed or disagreed with the guys position, just that I thought it was funny he was such a dumbass.

Not everything posted needs to be politicized, even if it's about politicians. Every time someone makes an observation about another country, religion, philosophy, or anything else, it doesn't need to turn into a flame war. Are you all really that insecure that you can't just take a situation for what it is? Is pointing out that a Canadian official said something stupid offensive to Canadians? I hear Americans say stupid things daily and I’ll be the first one to point at them and scream dumbass.

If you want to post Bush's grammatical faux pas here, this is the place to do it. As long as you don't make it inherently political with the way you post it .Of course, you would have to have the reasonable expectation that someone else wouldn’t make it political either, and I think that’s a long shot given the fervor with which some of our members attack anything they think is not supporting their own POV (and that goes for both sides in any given argument that happens here).

No, if that was the case, I would have made sure to put "Canada full of retards" or something. I made sure the topic and post was Canada free. For that very reason.

I would have posted it had it been Bush that did it. The only people that are making this personal or nasty is you and the other fanboy. Quit taking it so personally.

Actually, in Canada, the Liberal party sits at the centre of the political spectrum, while in the US the political parties are a little more polar. And then, of course, there's the Labour (read liberal) party in the UK that isn't behaving very "liberal" of late.

You can't simply project the characteristics of the politics of one nation onto another nation.
