JOLT Cola finally has a new look:
Check joltcola.com for some better pics. The new packaging is the first to use "thermosensitive ink" which provides a gauge of how much is left in the can. Very gimmicky, but kinda neat! In addition to the new look, they've got a new flavour called Ultra which has zero carbs and zero calories.
I guess I like the new look, but it just seems slightly overdone. Anyway, if it helps them better compete with all those other awful tasting wannabee energy drinks that have saturated the market, more power to them.

How so? It's cola flavoured. It's carbonated. It's served cold. Coffee is none of those things.
That being said, I do love a good cup of coffee (enjoying one right now actually).

Not sure, I live in Canada.
However, they sell it by the case on their website for $19.95 US.

I might check it out, looks interesting. Of course price is the kicker. I'm not going to over-pay for an energy drink when a couple bottles of pepsi will do the same.

Jolt Ultra
Ingredients: carbonated water, citric acid, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, concentrated orange juice, sucralose (Splenda, a non-nutrititive sweetener) natural and artificial flavor, caffeine, gum arabic, natural flavor, yellow #5, glycerol ester of wood rosin, brominated vegetable oil, taurine, guarana, ginseng, and vitamin B complex
Nutrition Facts: serving size: 8 fl oz; calories 0; total fat 0g; cholesterol 0mg; sodium 30mg; total carbs 0g; sugars 0g; protein 0g
Allrighty, they opted for Splenda over the eat-a-hole-in-your-brain Aspartame. I might actually drink the stuff now.

Btw, what exactly is wrong with aspartame? Not that I ever drink the stuff, tastes horrible.

I think I read at some point that it can cause short-term memory loss. I don't remember.
Actually I can't stand that stuff, or the rat poison in the pink packets for that matter, which is why I'm thankful that Splenda came along.

Care to explain why? I'm curious because a few friends are concerned about their weight so they drink all kinds of crap with it. I'd like something a little more solid than "Its bad for you".
If anyone could PM me some info that'd be much appreciated.

FDA says its fine but there are a lot of "ASPARTAME IS GOING TO KILL YOU" websites.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame for a better explaination.

Feh. Jolt is for amateurs. Mountain Dew? Double feh. I drink coffee for relaxation before I go to sleep. Espresso is for the weak.
Of course, the volume of caffeine I've consumed has probably leeched all the calcium out of my bones, but such a small price to pay...

i use it.
i dont use 10 packs at a time, i use 1.
in my opinion, it tastes "sweet". nothing revolting, slightly different but not bad. in soda, i find it to be "distinct". as in mountain dew has it's own "flavor", i consider diet sodas to have it's own flavor of aspartame.
i do not believe it will cause any more damage than putting 2-3 sugars in your coffee. if you think about, that saturated fat in your slice of pizza or that you're mom's potatoe salad is not really doing your body good either. or for a lot us... sitting in front of a computer 8 hours a day.
aspartame doesn't kill people. people kill people.

I use coffee. Lots of coffee. Morning, noon and night. Coffee coffee coffee.
Clarification: when I state that espresso is for the weak, I am refering to the mamby-pamby starbucks drinks. I know people who get a large latte and talk about getting a buzz off of it. Nancy boys. I think I'd need to crush up Vivarin in my coffee before I felt the caffeine.

Saccharin is safer than Aspartame, really (Aspartame has a long list of negative health effects associated with it, saccharin is merely a mild carcinogen, and everything causes cancer these days anyway). The FDA is protecting either itself (it has been allowing aspartame on the market for so many years, after all) or the artificial sweetener industry ($$), not sure which (imagine the uproar if the FDA suddenly ordered Aspartame yanked off the market).
It would sure be nice if the FDA would approve STEVIA.
But in any case, I read all labels carefully, if I see ASPARTAME in the ingredients list, I don't consume it (and you do need to read all labels, the use of aspartame is widespread).
Also, aspartame is addicting. When I quit using it, I went through a two week hell of withdrawal response, actually craving the stuff, looking at the packets of equal on the coffee table at work like they were crack cocaine.

Maybe you yourself should go drink a couple of lattes to help boost your calcium level.
For a while Jolt had a product called Jolt Espresso which offered a cola/espresso mix to the tune of 120mg of caffeine per 250ml can. Awesome stuff, my all-time favourite drink. I was fortunate enough that my employer used to buy this by the case for me. I can't seem to find it any more, and the Jolt site isn't mentioning it at all.

do you stop drinking other things that are bad for you as well such as hard liquor or go out to restaurants? avoid all junk foods at all as well? no nightclub/bar usage because of smoking?
everything is bad for you!
the point is to counteract that with a healthy diet and exercise!

You do know that you can't "counteract" bad things with good things, right? The best diet and exercise won't prevent you from getting lung cancer. Aspartame might not be proven to be harmful but I'd be highly suspect of it.

For the most part YES actually. I eat rather healthy. I don't eat red meat, only fish, I almost never drink and I stopped going to bars because of the smoke.
Now that you can no longer smoke in bars I go out more but still drink lightly.
Everyone I know who doesn't smoke or drink a lot look about 10 years younger than people who do.

I neither smoke (never have), drink alcohol (never have), or eat meat (haven't since I was 16, so about 5-6 years), and I don't look a day younger than average for my age. I wouldn't be too happy with looking 10 years younger than all the smokers/drinkers (no, I don't mean alcoholics) my own age that I know, 'cause being 22 and looking 12 would sort of suck...
