Hello I was wondering if there are any power users of google. I was showing my mom about google and I said just type what you are looking for and hit return. Then I was thinking I bet there are better ways of searching. Are there power users that can give some clues to how to use google to it fullest.
Thanks for the time.

With some loud music + a friend to chat nearby you can get alot done. - but jezz, I'd avoid it if I had the choice---- If only real people came with Alpha Channels.......:)

There's always the "advanced search" option, but if you don't want to click the link, you can add quotes around phrases that you want the exact words to show up ("phrase here"), and typing a - before a word will exclude those words from the search (-microsoft)

My favorite Google feature that's known by many, but not most, is the fact that it's a calculator.
Just type in any math equation and hit enter... And there's your answer. It's quicker than opening the Calculator app, most of the time.

That reminds me, google "the answer to life, the universe, and everything" (you'll only get it if you've read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

if you type in exchange/area code, it will give you a list of phone numbers in that exchange.
for example, my work phone is 513-754-XXXX. so if I put in 754/513 it would give me a list of all the numbers it has for 513-754. I discovered that one while using the calculator.

If you ever have a phone number appear on your caller ID that you don't know, type in the phone number with the area code, and it'll give you a name and address for that number

Typing a full address (street, number, city, state) into Google's search box will give you a direct link to a map of the address from MapQuest and Yahoo.
