What would you need a new machine like that for?

Well, I had a PowerBook G4 for about a week. Somehow the screen got a dimple in it (like a sand grain or something got behind it). So I took it in and they replaced the LCD. But when I got it back the lower right corner was practically gray scale, major saturation problem. So I sent it back in and they sent it back saying they could'nt replicate the problem.

Anyway, I ended up selling it on eBay. No point in having a disfigured LCD when trying to do Graphic Design. The only problem is that I had $200 go down the drain after I sold it.

So I saved up again and now I'm getting another one. I just hope the LCD is in good shape this time. My 400Mhz G3 (overclocked it from 233) is a little pokey at times, and it's a real waste only being able to display 1024x768 no a 22" monitor.

Got my 1.67 yesterday, and it rocks (although there's some issue with it getting onto my company's network... still gotta figure that one out)

It does seem a lot faster than my 1ghz TI did.

Just joining in on the new PowerBook goodness. I have a 1.67mhz 15" PB arriving early next week. Bumped the vid card to 128mb, and the HD to 100gb of course. Will buy extra 1gb ram separate to bring her up to 1.5GB.

Sweeeeet.

Well, almost - Alban Arthuan is one of the ancient Druidic fire festivals. Taking place on December 21st through 22nd (due to the method the Druids used to measure one day), Alban Arthuan coincides with the Winter Solstice. Translated, it means "The Light of Arthur," in reference to the Arthurian legend that states King Arthur was born on the Winter Solstice.

So it's almost like Christmas.

Aha. Tak. Thanks for accomodating my too-lazy-to-google-ness.

So Alban means 'light', eh? Nice name for a country, that...

Oh-sam! (Awesome, wish it was me )

Jens P, if you have not yet, you should give Apple a call to figure out what's going on.

I called them, and the kind swedish guy told me, that a plane was booked for my powerbook, but it still was in China. I will have it next week.
When I ordered, I was told the delivery time was between 3 and 5 days..
Guess that was a bit too optimistic.

Luckily I'm about 5 miles from the Elk Grove assembly plant for Apple. No shipping from China.
