Just got done watching Mononoke with my daughter, and it got me thinking about Nausicaä, so I went out on a lark and checked Amazon. Scheduled for release on Feb 22nd! I'm a very happy camper. This is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Nausicaä is a good anime, but I'd strongly encourage you to check out the manga. It's a bit better, IMO.
And presumably you have already gotten all the Ghibli films you can get, right?

I like that film. Even though I've never seen it. I love to watch Miyazaki films. If I was a billionare, I'd buy the DVD.
Here are some other things I would do If I was stinking rich:
* Buy a deluxe set of turntables and all that jazz and learn to be a DJ
* Buy a luxury suite in the middle of Manhatan with park and city views
* Spend an insane amount of money at the Apple Store
* Go to singapore and screw around for a week
* Buy my entire wishlist at amazon
* Sleep with the most expenisve whores I can find
* Live in Jamaica for a few months
* Spend the rest of my days in Japan, just screwing around, traveling around hot spring resorts, buying sake for old salarymen in bars, and buying pretty much whatever I want, because in Japan, you can get anything.
There is a lot more but I can't think of any at the moment, I'll start a thread and post a really long list one of these days.

Mononoke is one of the greatest he's done. Nausicaä is also good, of course. Others I recommend include Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
He's got a new one coming out soon, too: Howl's Moving Castle. Miyazaki drawing Welsh lunatics

Don't worry mate, I'll bail you out and fly out to Singpore where we can have fun with whores, champagne, spicy noodles, more whores and shoe buffers.

I must've first seen Nausicaä shortly after it's Japanese theatrical release (probably around 1986 or 1987) as a VHS bootleg. Didn't understand a word of the dialog, but feel in love with the movie. So Nausicaä is naturally my fav. Mononoke is extremely good, and is a very close second. Depending on my mood, I vacillate between Spirited and Laputa. Spirited is very cool and involved. Laputa is more innocent and enjoyable (and has the nifty Superman knock-off robots). Howl's looks like it'll be quite entertaining!

My brother showed me Nausicaä a few years back. It was a while ago, so I can't really remember much other than that I enjoyed it. I should search for it to watch it again.

Didn't care for the manga, eh? I will admit that it was a bit long winded. Akira suffered from the same thing as well. Good story, good manga, but could of been trimmed up a bit. But I guess that is the appeal of the movie over the manga. Still, I liked 'em both.
