when i was in school i had a job. so can you. if it's really that bad, use the lab comps (there are chicks in labs, especially now that xp sucks so much. you can either help them or offer to fix their comps, either way you profit,)
now, how to it. $500 is really nothing when you have room and board covered.

Have him sell is PC tower....He should get at least a couple hundered for it..Then he should be close to the money he needs for his mac mini......
If not, dive in the trash cans and look for pop bottles...

Man, maybe I should start a "I need an iPod mini cuz my required college gym class really really sucks, and running for 30 minutes strait would be better with an iPod Mini" page. I'll need far fewer donations then an Mac MIni, and think of all the hours of love and joy it'll bring me. I am also a poor poor student, because I went to Japan. And the Japanese beat me up.
