The common trade name for those things is Mayline. Hang around a design/architecture school at the end of a semester and you can get one for super-cheap.

I think that one was $117 on the mayline website, but I seem to remember selling mine for ~$40 when I got out of the architecture racket.

Here are some good cheap kits. But they have t-squares and not permanent parallels like I think you are asking for.

What about this?

24" x 36" is US$60.50

I have a degree in Drafting. I don't do it anymore as a job, but I do a lot of manual drafting in my woodworking shop do design projects.

are you looking for portability in particular? because I've owned several of these all from mayline and two of them broke(sliding ruler) within a year. if it were up to me I'd invest in a table and a long t-square or drafting arm. ebay always has good second hand stuff.
