With the recent attention on the newly-discovered 1984 Macintosh Introduction footage, I thought it befitting to come forth and share some of my own rare Apple promotional footage, all of which I believe has never been digitized or distributed on the internet before (please correct me if I'm wrong). I'm pleased to present 3 rare Apple clips... I digitized thse clips off vintage VHS back in 1997 on my Powermac 9600- The clips include: Apple IIc commercial (*not* the Alan Greenspan one that is on the internet), the original "Test Drive a Macintosh" commercial, and a unique product "montage" clip which features Macintosh, IIc, and other Apple products of the era.. Interestingly, this last clip uses the theme "I'm so Excited" by the Pointer Sisters, but has unique, specific Lyrics that seem to fit the montage well...The footage comes from a documentary shot in late 1984/early 1985 on Apple. Rare Interviews of Lee Clow (of Chiat Day), Jobs, Wozniak, Sculley, Mike Murray (Product Manager), Regis McKenna, etc. were among those filmed for the documentary as well.
Trivia/Side Info: I have misplaced this tape since 1997. I do still have it somewhere..-I am going to dig it up soon and digitize more clips once found.. There are funny scenes that I recall within these other various apple promotionals including a lady who becomes disgrunted with her IBM PC, & decides to shoot it with a shotgun (!), and a similar spot showing a disgruntled PC owner who picks up his PC monitor (while on), screams, and then proceeds to throw his monitor across the room, hitting a wall (monitor shatters/implodes upon impact)(!)..(i'm not even sure those spots ever aired!?) And of course, the official Apple IIc indroduction by John Sculley - who pulls a IIc out from a carrying case, holds it up high and presents it to a cheering Audience.., and various other interesting bits here and there.. here's hoping I find that tape!.. but in the meantime, I present to you these initial 3 clips!..

I rather liked that commercial.. i've always thought that it was fairly clever in the way one thinks its a car commercial until the cover is pulled away, revealing the Mouse...
