I am going to be Confirmed soon (A Roman Catholic ritual) and I am deciding upon a Confirmation name. I have narrowed it down to four, as seenn in the poll. I want you all to vote on which one you like best. It'll be Jerome Christopher (name). If you want to suggest something else, fire away. Remember the name must have appeared in Scripture or is the name of a saint). No Satan, either. Thanks!

Jerome Christopher Edward has a nice ring to it. But what Saint or where in the Bible does "Edward" appear? If that's a joke I would go with Matthew.

That was the first thing I thought. Go with Edward.

Happy Confirmation!

So what did you base these four names on? What these men did or because you like the name? Maybe you should name yourself after a saint that you admire or could relate to...?

Your confirmation name is meant to be more than a name that people on MacNN thought sounded cool. It's like... adopting a godfather or something. Try to think which you relate to most.

I also like the saint names Anthony, Michael, Nicolas, Thomas, Justin, Elias, and Elijah. Tell us what your interests are, "what you want to be when you grow up," or something.

Go for ishod, sounds kinda like iPod.

But seriously, if you're serious about this, you shouldn't be asking what others think, you should reflect on it and decide what suits you best and what you'll be happiest with. Otherwise, you're just trying to win acceptance from others.

But acceptance of people on a Mac board is VERY important in life.

Stavros

Now before you go and say "it doesn't appear in Scripture," let me tell you that some translations of the New Testament say that Christ was crucified on a "stauros," or cross (The v is for the way it's actually pronounced in Greek).

If you need further proof of it being in the Bible, consider that my Name Day (the day of the saint for which we're named) is September 14, the Feast of the Cross.
