The top iPod has a "paper" screen that is fully functional.

Awesome find!

Sometimes I try to put myself in perspective, and look at my 12inch Powerbook and Sony Ericsson mobile, and say "god damn you are such an ancient primitive piece of sh**"

It's hard, but if you try, you can predict the future more easily.

The iPod screens change a lot though, right? So doesn't that mean they will need a lot of power? Clocks might be OK so long as it doesn't display seconds. Then it only changes once per minute. And the eBook reader would be good too. It won't use any power at all while you are reading the current page. And if you set it down and go do something else, it can stay right there without wasting juice. That sounds nice.

Anyway, looks cool.

This'd be great for things like digital cameras, photo frames on walls. Etc... I really like this idea.

If/when a color version comes out. Digital picture frames would be nice indeed (for those that keep pictures around...). If it can last for months without power, then it'd only take a couple batteries and you could have your pictures change daily or something.
