I'm having to order a new Audible.com subscription and wanted to see what everyone else is listening to and any suggestions (for and/or against). I've done the NY Times and I just finished with the Troy Aikman Show during he NFL season.

Thanks.

I did, years ago. Used it to get a Rio 600 MP3 player (before there were iPods. Now I don't use it anymore. I mainly used it for the free book a month.

This is my experience.

In the beginning, when the whole thing started with the first iPod, I was glad I got the subscription. But the 10 blank CDs they shipped as part of the promo were crap.

When I got my latest iPod (U2), I decided I would give it a go again. Bleh. I got the lates Crichton (State of Fear) and although the reader is OK, if you listen closely, yuou hear all of them body noises. e v e r y t h i n g.

I noticed the body noises when I listened on my HIFI first. Then I thought using my headphones at lower volume would be OK.

nope.

So I decided I will not buy from them again.

What I am hoping for is warmer voices from a text to speech converter.

"all things considered" has worked out best for me so far.
