Weird but true:
This kit gives you the ability to follow in Emile Berliner's footsteps and create an actual gramophone recorder/player.
Simply place an old CD (AOL anyone?) on the gramophone, speak into the paper cup, and etch your record, which can then be played back on this (or another) Berliner Gramophone.

I *so* HAVE to have one of those.
In fact, I'll have to have at least one more for a friend.
I can't seem to find a German distributor, though.

Not by a long chalk.

So all that wax I have is forgotten? Well, maybe I haven't played it in a few days, but it's far from "out of sight or out of mind"

From the episode where Homer becomes an conceptual artist:

it just etches it into the plastic. it could be recorded on any plastic disc or square. It has nothing to do with a cd. Although everyone here probably knows this.
