They don't deliver on Sunday unless you pay for it, but their office IS open on Sunday. My PowerBook will arrive at their office tomorrow, but they're not going to deliver it until Monday.

Anyone know if I bring in my tracking number & reference number if I can pick it up in person on Sunday?

Damn it I want my PowerBook!

I called UPS one time to ask if I could pick something up instead of it going to my house. I worked 2 miles from the sort center so I figured I'd save them the trouble and I'll just pick it up. They wouldn't let me. Maybe FedEx is different.

Yes, you can call FedEx at 1-800-Go-FedEx (1-800-463-3339) and ask them to change your Powerbook to Hold. If that station offers Hold, you should be able to go down and pick it up.

Give them a call. I had no problems picking up a package from UPS recently as it required a signature and I knew that I wouldn't be home. I think I just chose the option to do that when I tracked it.

You do have to do it before a certain time though (i.e. before its placed on the truck) otherwise you'll have to wait another day.

This was during a weekday - not sure how things work over a weekend.

Report back on this; it would be interesting to know how Fedex handles this.

Shucks. I called FedEx and my package is being held in their San Francisco distribution center and not the Sacramento center. My deliver date was pushed back 1 day.

Worth a try.

Just gotta give a testimony of Fedex great delivery of my Mac mini.
I ordered ground shipping.

It shipped on 02/18 7.03 pm from SHENZHEN CN and arrived today (02/21) at 9:00 AM in Newport News.

That is 3.5 days for ground shippping from China to the East Coast.
Freakin' good, if you ask me...

FedEx does allow in-person pickups.
A couple of years back I ordered a new 512 MB RAM chip for my G3 iMac. After waiting for 3 days, the tracking showed it was at their local distribution center, scheduled for delivery the next day.
Since I worked only a few miles from the distribution center, I stopped off after work and picked up my new RAM a day early.

Really ?
I just recently had to ship something on a Sunday.
NONE of the big 3 (Fedex, UPS, DHL/Airborn) were open...
I had to wait till Monday.
