Palpatine and Sidious are the same person? Who's Grievous? I'm confused.
Ok, General Grievous. Duh.

Interesting.
Unfortunately, I don't expect the movie to be much more expressive than that web page.

Hopefully this one will be more fun to watch than the last two...such a big investment of time to watch "epic" movies.

Oh no! The movie is spoiled! Poor Georges lucas won't make any money... In a desperate rage he will turn to the dark side and release his cruel vengeance in yet another version of Star Wars that will jeopardize the cosmic balance until he sees the light and release another version of Star Wars in an ultimate light side collerctors edition box set...

It does look better than the last one. Then again, I thought that the last one was an excellent movie -- provided you mute the sound. It was very visually appealing, but my dog could have written a better script. I'm sure that if I just saw screen shots if the last movie, I would have thought it would be good, too. So, we'll just see what happens.
I think that seeing these screenshots may motivate us to find a babysitter and see the movie in the theaters, instead of just netflixing it when it comes out on DVD...

The story seems rather bla to me. Nothing shocking or connecting the old with the new in what was shown so far.

Question re: Star Wars Continuity:
Do you think they'll show that Anakin/Vader is Luke & Leia's dad in Ep3? If so, don't you think it will kind of take away from the "wind-knocked-out-of-you" feel of the moment in Empire?

I think that they say in Empire and Jedi that Vader didn't know.
I am pretty sure they will end it with Obi dropping off luke on Tatooine to his adoptive parents and leia going to Alderaan.

OK. But Amidala is supposed to be preggers in the movie. Doesn't that hint at Anakin's involvement, or is he just going to think she eats too much Häagen-Daz?

I wasn't alive with Empires was released back in '81.
To those of you who were in the theaters, was it really that much of a shocker to know Vader is Luke's father?

Yes, but the shock & awe of Leia being Luke's sister was so completely crushedby the shock & awfulness of the fekking ewoks.

Yes. I've never, EVER heard an entire theater gasp all at once.

Someone who pays way more attention to this stuff than I do can correct me if I'm wrong, but Anakin/Vader probably knew that she was pregnant, but not necessarily with twins. Which explains why in the second movie (it's not the fifth movie, for crying out loud!), Vader knew he was Luke's father, but didn't know Luke had a twin sister until the third movie. He must have thought he only fathered a boy.
edit: that sounds a lot like a soap opera plot to me. feh.

Oddly, her best performance was in Leon (AKA The Professional). And she was like 12.

It's not like Anakin and Luke have the same last name.

HA! Didn't even cross my mind. I'm sure Skywalker is like Smith in that galaxy.
Which means, in order to preserve the effect, George somehow has to keep us from knowing that Vader is Anakin.

I don't think so because we are at a point where the generation that loves SW has already seen it. Any future kiddies who might watch them in order will lose that, but the whole reason for watching 1-3 is because we want to see just how Vader came to be in the first place, meaning we've seen 4-6.

Yeah but virgin births and midichlorians completely screwed up that story.

Doesn't say, but please tell me that the Imperial Guards fight in the movie. PLEASE. I'll forever hate Lucas if they don't.
