I need a new phone... I'm about to throw my Samsung through the wall. I can't wait to get a new phone so I can crush this thing with a bat.
I'd like to get either the SE T637 or Nokia 6600, and I've found some good deals for these through online resellers but I'm a little wary of their reliability.
I've only purchased phones through the corporate retail stores in the past, so I'm curious to see what others' experiences have been buying from sites like letstalk.com or 1800mobile.com. Any drawbacks or horror stories? Any sites with better deals?

The 637 will rock your world with it's really long battery life.
If your provider uses the 850MHz band it is bliss.

No provider yet... I'm with Sprint month-to-month right now.
For those two phones, it looks like it's going to be either Cingular or T-Mobile based on what's available in my area (Monterey, Ca).

For the phone, the 6600 has way more features than the T637, it has memory card slot, Symbian OS, etc. The SE has good battery life (I had a T610, don't know about the Nokia.
I bought my ngage on tha intarweb, ( www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk) because it was a cheap deal, free handset and so many months half price. Be careful with offers like that, they are actually full price, then they send you a cheque to redeem the discount after 6 months, IF you send them the form to reclaim the money, if you don't send the form, you pay full price on the contract!

Look after my manor, or I will bum you, literally, to death.

It is also a huge ****ing bitch.
Not to mention half the battery life and no support for 850MHz.
But if size and battery life don't matter to you go nuts.

Definitely, battery life is key... that's one of the main frustrations with my current phone. I charge it up overnight, and by midday it's dead.
I am leaning towards the T637, but I've only found it with Cingular as the provider. I can get more minutes through T-Mobile for the same price, so that's why I was still considering the 6600. I really don't care about all the smartphone options, I'd just like to sync my phone with my iBook and be able to use a BT headset so I can dial out from addressbook without having to find my phone.
Either way, I just don't want to get ripped off by these sites that offer a bunch of mail-in rebates...
