My company's annual dinner took place at some private clue last Friday night, and i was one of the 5 committee members who organized the event. About 100 colleagues attended plus a few higher managements from the company's headquarters oversea (London and Zurich). I was in charge of the lucky draw and i got to pick for the prize items. These are the top 3 prizes:
1st prize :: Sharp 26" LCD TV
2nd prize :: Travel Package USD1,000
3rd prize :: Pioneer DVD Recorder (w/ HDD)
In total there were 66 prizes... and a lot of them were cash, ranged from USD130 to USD500. One of the more interesting items was a Golden Rooster, worth USD500 and made entirely of 24K gold. It's not big, but since this year is the year of rooster for the chinese so that was pretty meaningful.
30 people or so didn't get anything out of the draw, and that includes me! However we all got USD25 Red Packet as consolation prize. So everybody was a winner!
The theme of the night was "The '70s"... it was pretty cool cuz every dressed up like mad. I will post pictures later.
The event budget was USD26,800 all inclusive (food, prizes, transportation, venue, rental this and that) and we ended up slightly under.
Tell me about your corporate annual dinner!

my companies xmas party this year was pretty fun. free food, drinks, and comedian. prizes but not as much as you had. tvs, gift certificates and stuff like that. it was a good time, but that could have been the alcohol too.

Our Christmas party was an indoor/outdoor Oyster Roast with a live band and open bar. We also had a pretty nifty corporate deal in Jan ... 3 meeting "sections" with about 20-25 people in each one. 1 person in each section won a paid vacation for two including airfare. Not too shabby given the odds.
There are at least two more expense-paid industry gatherings this year that I will be attending. One in Myrtle Beach in March and one in New Orleans in October (rock 'on, I love N.O. and haven't been in like, 9 years).

We ordered Chinese food and ate it. Then we drank beer and wine coolers and went home.
