The turbo model is 14% more expensive, i am not sure if the extra power justifies the extra cost. I mean, the base model isn't cheap already.

What do you think? Nothing beats the feeling of a hot blade.

why don't you ask Gillette for a free sample? They might send you one...in Hong Kong.

haha, its funny you post this because i just picked up a Schick Quattro today to try it out. after using a Mach 3 for years. having only used the quattro once i really cant say yet if i like it better. i'd say it shaves closer and the design of the razor is nicer then the mach 3 i had because it has alot more room for water it get in around the razor blades so its easy to clean out after you shave (if that makes sense). one thing i did notice though is i think the quattros head doesnt move as well as the mach 3...which made if difficult to shave around the jawline and neck...but again i have only used it once. i ****ing hate shaving anyways...what is different about the turbo compared to the regular one?

I'd get the turbo. Make sure you use (at least) a proper intercooler (water/air or combination of both). keep dibs on your turbo with a complete set of gauges (don't forget the EGT).

Turbo timer may be useful in this application as well.

You'd definitely benefit from some electronic tuning.

I use a Braun in combination with a properly tuned Turbo. Outstanding.

I prefer the Mach 3 turbo with TWO conditioning strips, because I'm a wuss.

I think the Turbo has a greasy greenish aloe stripe on the contact surface.

might as well be a marketing scam.

supposedly a lubricant strip, and uhm .. more fins 2x more i think. neve used 'em .. i'm using a m3 power one now .. before i used a m3 ... i like it. it's not as scary as the first time =P. and it actually feels like it is floating on my skin because of the vibrations.

sure the shick has a wider gap for water .. but does that make the razor head (the rectangular part with the four blades) bigger, making it less nimble?

I don't really understand why people need complex razors. I just use a worn out Mach 3 that I got free from Gillette and some water to shave. Works like a charm.

I use a Mach 3 (non)Turbo myself.

I had a bunch of blades for the Mach 3 so that made my decision easier. (Not sure where I originally got the blades from).
- iMac 3.2Ghz 1TB - MacBook Pro 15" Core i7 2.3Ghz / 256SSD (Work laptop)
- PowerMac G5 - Dual 2.0 Ghz, 3GB, Soundsticks!,
- Lenovo Thinkpad T510 (also a work laptop), Win 7 Enterprise, 8GB, 320GB HDD

Schick sent me a Quattro the other day as a trial. I tried it out, and I don't like it nearly as much as my Mach 3. The Quattro, just like every other Schick razor I've tried, gets clogged up between the blades so bad. The Mach 3 rinses out clean every time, but you have to take compressed air or something to the Quattro to get it clean.

Does anyone have a good online source for cheap Mach 3 blades?

Make sure you Repair Permissions on the razor and your face before and after you shave.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

when I got a set of new blades for my mach 3 there was a Turbo blade in every set (set as in the ones that fits below the razor) and I can tell the difference in the blades, the turbo gives me less irritation, although it seems to not last as long...

although I JUST tried a new shaving gel today, it had aloe in it and that made me much happier then the turbo blades.

Also, just so you all know, most GIllette "venus" blades are interchangeable, so if you take your wife's/Girlfriends razor blade and stick it on your razor it should fit... I read somewhere that they seemed to last longer, but they are FREAKING HUGE!!!

I've had several mach 3s now, and never was totally impressed with them.. they tend to leave more battle scars than any other razor I've used EXCEPT bump fighters -- those things are hell on a stick.

Right now I've been using Old spice 4 bladers..

They are AWESOME to say the least, but REALLY hard to find.. it used to be you could get a 3 pack for $4, or a pack of *blades* for like $2 or so!

http://www.universalgrp.com/main/face.php?C=men

Of course, every time I start to buy them somewhere.. they phase them out.

My favorites for longetivity were the FX diamonds.. only 2 blades but they stayed sharp for ages and ages.. I tended to replace them only because the strips were totally worn out by then.

<-- they came with a really neat razor too

I use a single fixed blade razor, with platinum coated blades. Needs a little bit of skill, so you don't rip your face off, but is the closest shave ever.

i found out shaving in the shower after getting your skin/pores all wet and enlarged works best

i am poor so i have to use razors for atleast twice the time span and in conjunction with an electric for sideburns and chin/throat

Yes, but if you cut your face with that piece of glass... it's because you didn't repair permissions first!!!

I reacall a post that was almost exactly the same as this one occurring like 6 months ago. I restate my opinion. The Turbo is only better than the regular Mach 3 for like 2 shaves. After that, the aloe crap wears away and you are left with a slightly more expensive regular Mach 3 blade. Stick witht the regular mach 3's.

damn no body uses the good ol' Sensor Excel anymore...feel like an old man.

I find that more than two blades makes the head too thick, which makes it difficult to navigate around the nose.\

Though I occasionally use a 3 blader when I use my girlfriends Gillette Venus, which I use when I don't have replacement blades, which is most of the time.
